Happy New Year!
The next PTA Meeting is on Tuesday, January 14 from 7:00-8:30pm
We’re putting together our agenda for this meeting and wanted everyone’s input. If you have committee updates or other PTA related information you’d like to share please let us know and we’ll put you on the agenda. If you can’t make it to the meeting please send a statement by Sunday (1/12) and it’ll be shared at the meeting. Please look over the tentative agenda and read the attached minutes so they can be approved at the meeting. Lastly, feel free to suggest any topics or speakers you’d like us to pursue for the remainder of the school year.
Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Also, It’s time to submit your new material for the Dizzle Dazzle by the end of Friday, January 10th.
Please note this suggestion that your text should correspond with the issue’s timing. If the event you are writing about happened before Friday, January 10th it will be a past information and the tense should be appropriate; likewise, when you are writing about an event falling after Friday, January 10th it will be an upcoming event and the tense should be appropriate as well.
Please forward this information to those you think should or would like to write something about the life of our school community. Thank you for your help.

If so, you are invited to Dawes Kindergarten Information Night on Tuesday, January 28th from 7:00-8:00.

We are also looking for parent volunteers. We need parents to help lead school tours and work the welcome table. We want to show incoming parents what a strong and diverse community we have at Dawes! Maybe you’re like me and have an incoming Kindergartner and so would be attending this event anyway and would not mind giving your time. Or maybe your once upon a time kindergartner is all grow up and you remember stepping foot into Dawes for the first time and want to welcome new families into our school community.

A more detailed flyer regarding this event will be posted soon:)

If you are available even part of the time, please contact me.

Save the Date!
Saturday, January 25
9:45 am – Noon

Parents, Family Members, Teachers and Staff,

All Dawes community members are invited to share their art making experience and talents with our students at the Creative Arts Saturday workshops on Saturday, January 25th.

Students in Kindergarten through 5th are invited to get arty, crafty, dramatic, musical, and groovy with a wide selection of FREE hands on arts classes sponsored by the Dawes PTA.

We are on the lookout for creative adults to design and lead a 30 – 45 minute hands-on art project or art lesson with a group of 10 – 12 students. It can be in any medium (dance, visual art, drama, music, literary). Please contact Stephanie Kulke or Sophie Carlisle right away if you are interested.

Don’t worry if you have don’t have complete details worked out – we just need to know if you are willing and able. By end of December we will need a brief 2 – 3 sentence description of your workshop, and know any special room or other requirements you need to support your art class. Dawes PTA will reimburse you for your material costs.

Parent volunteers are also needed to serve as workshop assistants, to help with registration, and to bring and serve snacks. Please contact Stephanie Kulke, Sophie Carlisle or call 773-501-4360 if you can help out.

Happy Art Making!
